Thomas Matthew Buck was a Sapper in 416 Field Company Royal Engineers. He served in France and Belgium 1917 -18. He was killed on 4.9.1918 with 3 fellow sappers by an artillery shell near Croisilles, South of Arras.

The letter from Chaplain H Shepperd offers condolences and advice about how to find information about the grave. There is an order of service for the unveiling of the war memorial to 416 Company at St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh and this is where Thomas Buck is remembered. He is commemorated by CWGC at Quaent Road Cemetery, Buissy, France.
