<p dir="ltr">Thomas Blanden, born 1887, was Barry’s grandfather. He joined the Royal Navy in 1905 and served during both First and Second World Wars.<br><br>Thomas served aboard the Queen Elizabeth class Battleship HMS Barham (dates not known).<br><br>Thomas’s personal diary describes his journey on the battlecruiser HMS Invincible to the Falklands in 1914.<br><br>Medals: Long Service/Good conduct medal, 1914-1918 Campaign medal and “Peace Medal” 1914-1918/Allied Victory medal.</p>
