<p dir="ltr">Born in Wolverhampton in 1883 to Paul & Jane (nee Morris Vice) Brothwood. In the 1901 census Edward, his father and brother Paul were all working at the Lysaght Iron works in Wolverhampton. </p><p dir="ltr">Edward moved to Newport in 1910 and married Mary Ann Brewer, the couple had a daughter Jane. </p><p dir="ltr">"Just to have seen and clasped his hand Before he was called to a better land His battles are o'er and God thought best To take him to a beautiful home to rest A long grave in France Where brave hero sleeps There's a cottage home in England Where a mother site and weeps."</p>
