The uploaded item is a photograph of the contributor's grandfather, Charles Clarke. According to information collected by the contributor's sister, Charles Clarke was a Second Lieutenant in the Worcestershire Regiment. He fought at Loos and Mons and served between 3rd September 1914 and 3rd February 1919.

Clarke spent a year and a half in France, which the contributor believes may explain why he survived the war!
