A framed family memorial of a portrait photograph, within a frame depicting a battleship. Able Seaman Rodgers was killed at the Battle of Jutland, on HMS 'Indefatigable', on 30 May 1916 aged 21. His elder sister, the contributor's Grandmother had it on her lounge wall all her life. She touched it every night on her way to bed. He was son of Fred. Ernest and Sarah Rodgers, of 2, New St., Morley, Leeds.
