Reginald is the great uncle of Roger. He was registered as John C Reginald Hawkins at birth but also had a second birth registered with the name Reginald Hawkins.

He was born 20th September 1894 in Wiltshire.

The family believe he was in the Mounted Regiment at Devizes and served in the first wave. He fought at Mons where he was wounded. He was then sent to India for Garrison duties (the family believe he was court marshalled) where he was bought out of the army in 1915. He had a tattoo of a crucifix on his back.

He was awarded 3 medals: 1914 Star with bar 5th Aug - 22nd Nov 1914 1914- 1918 Medal The Great War for Civilisation 1914 - 1918

The family also believe he had a long service tape. He moved to Gloucestershire and in 1939 he was a Bus Driver. Reginald died in Bournemouth Dorset 14th February 1981 aged 86 years.
