John is the grandson of Harold, sometimes known as McCormack.

Harold was born in Clitheroe, Lancashire in 1884 to Richard & Ellen Cormick a Weaver. In 1911 Harold was living at his aunts with his wife Nellie who he had married in 1906. He was Bootmaker at this time.

The family do not know what regiment Harold was in, possibly 530 Durham Aux. Res Field Reg. His service number was 471712

During the depression Harold was an Insurance Assessor.

The photograph is of Harold in his uniform.

Harold died in 1937 still living in Clitheroe, Lancashire. He is interred at St Mary's church, Clitheroe.
