Frederick James Felton was the grandfather of the contributor's late partner, Clive William Frederick Hicks, who lived in Minehead and Five Bells.

Not much is known about Frederick. He died during the war and never got to meet his daughter, Lavinia Frederica Felton, who was born on 10th September 1917. His daughter's middle name was a way of her connecting with her father we presume.

Nothing is known of the regiment he was in nor the actual date of his death or where it occurred. Two photos were brought in. One was a family photo and Frederick James Felton is on the right in the photo.
