Narrow place in the Imbros Gorge, the cliffs richly vegetated with great cypress and holm-oaks and many shade-loving plants. Such gorges have the greatest concentration of the endemic plants peculiar to Crete. For centuries this gorge-bed was the gateway to Sphakia. July 1987.
