Loutro (5.11). By the tiny harbour is the post-medieval village, with ancient olive trees. Just left of centre is a big 19th-century Turkish fort. On the peninsula was ancient Phoenix, with five Roman basilicas and two harbours, one later lost to uplift. Much of the peninsula was farmland in the 19th century, hence the windmill tower near the fort. Looking SW. July 1987.
