Kato Samaria village (1.26), deserted since 1964, with its houses, enclosures, and orchard trees. It stands on a small terrace of cemented gravel, undermined by the river and broken away to form huge boulders. The slopes are invaded by young cypress and pine trees. Looking SE. July 1989.
