Ayia Roumeli, on the gravel delta at the mouth of the Gorge of Samaria (1.28). Ancient Tarrha lay mainly to the left of the loose gravel. A Venetian road bridge can just be seen, at the beginning of the gravel on the left. Church of Panagia visible in centre. Pine and cypress trees are slowly spreading down towards the sea. Looking SSE. August 1995.
