John Hinsdale Thompson

Michigan bookseller and literature professor at Stephens College, Missouri. He edited the literary magazineSignatures: Work in Progress (1936-38), and was himself a writer of fiction. In 1934, Thompson acquired the "˜Before Sunrise' notebook, containing JJ's translation of Vor Sonnenaufgang by Gerhart Hauptmann.
