Jeanne Robert Foster

American writer, journalist, editor, and model. Foster was the companion of New York lawyer and art patron John Quinn from 1918 until his death in 1924. She knew and corresponded with many writers and authors, including John Butler Yeats, W.B. Yeats, Ezra Pound, Ford Madox Ford, Picasso, and Constantin Brancusi. Foster was assistant editor of the American Review of Reviews, and in 1924 also American editor of Ford Madox Ford's Transatlantic Review when the first installment of JJ's "Work in Progress" appeared. She wrote and published books of narrative verse and volumes of stories. William Brockman
