Friend and language student of JJ, salesman, and clerk in various offices. Borach's sole publication, "Gespräche mit James Joyce" (Neue Zürcher Zeitung [3 May 1931]: 5), describes his recollections of JJ during 1917, 1918, and 1919 in meetings at the Pfauen restaurant and walks at the Zurich Lake as JJ would discuss his writing. Borach made arrangements for JJ to consult ophthalmologist Alfred Vogt, a relationship that lasted through the 1930s. JJ was profoundly shocked by Borach's death in an automobile accident on 30 March 1934. William Brockman
